My DD has been asking for a dog a lot lately. My Mom has been looking for a teacup yorkie for herself so that added to DD talking about dogs. Last Friday afternoon we went to see my niece at work where there was yes another dog, a teacup poodle. It was very cute. Then on Monday when I get to work there is talk of but what....a dog! Becky is going to go get her daughter a poodle. Well anyone that knows my DH very well knows that dogs or cats aren't really in his vocabulary, but when I got home from work I mentioned where Becky and her DH were at. He said good for them and DD heard...her comment....I want a dog. Then DH starts looking online at the Mobile SPCA and found a couple. He didn't want to pay a lot of money and he thought that it would be good to adopt one that needed a home. On Wednesday, he and DD went to an animal shelter just to "window shop". They called me and had found one that DD had fell in love with. I said well use your judgment and get him if you think he is ok. They came by the office when they got back in town and I didn't like him...he looked like a lab with his legs cut off. DH said we can take him back tomorrow. DD heard him and said No we can't I love him! I came home from work and they had given him a bath. He is already house trained. He isn't hyper and he already minds. DH and DD had went by Petsmart and gotten him a bed and you can tell him to get in it and he does. He didn't cry the first night and stayed in his bed all night. He hasn't bothered anything either and only looks up when George, our parakeet, sings. He has only barked once and we took him outside and I think he was telling us it was time to go out. He is really a good dog. At the shelter they named him Keller and DD changed his name to Charlie. She likes to watch Charlie and Lola on Disney and wanted to call him Charlie and Lola. I told her we would just call him Charlie. He is a little bigger than I would of picked but DD likes him and he seems to really like her so I guess Charlie is our newest pet.
